Design of an Information System for Configuration Management of New Technical Products

The aim of this qualification work is to improve the quality of managerial decisions made by top managers of industrial enterprises as a result of the new information technologies implementation. The activities of industrial enterprises, manufacturers of complex industrial products are considered as the object of study in this paper. The subject of study is the information system of the industrial enterprise that is designed to improve the efficiency of its operation. To achieve the goal these tasks have been set and solved in the work: 1. To make an overview of management technologies that are used to support complex technical products on the stages of the life cycle; 2. To build a model of the configuration management processes of complex technical products functioning; 3. To design a database for configuration management of complex technical products; 4. To develop an algorithm of configuration audit of technical products. The first part of the work deals with the theoretical foundations of the configuration management of technical products. The analysis of the literature about the configuration management showed that in terms of information technology there is a problem of creating a database containing a description of product with structural elements and all the attributes, links to relevant technical documentation. The second chapter contains a description of information supporting software for configuration management of complex technical products. Existing information systems that can be considered as a solution to the problem were described. The model of the configuration management processes of complex technical products functioning was designed. The practical part of the paper presents the software implementation of information systems. As a part of this chapter, the algorithm of configuration audit has also been described. The conclusion contains the results of the research.
