The Use of Decision Support Systems to Improve the Quality of Managerial Decisions of High-Tech Companies

The study adduces solution for the weakly structured task of choosing the target segment of consumers for design and development of the new insurance product in order to increase the competitiveness of the organization in the insurance market. The solution was implemented with the help of tools and methods offered by the modern decision support systems (DSS), which are analytical tools used to improve the quality of management decisions.

In terms of the structure, this work consists of the prologue, three main chapters and the final part. The introduction sets the goals and objectives of the study, indicates the topicality, the theoretical novelty and practical significance of the work. The first chapter represents an analysis of the existing DSS and the spheres of their application, the second chapter contains the description of the problem area - the modern insurance market and the wording of the target segment selection problem, the third chapter provides a solution to this problem with the help of DSS tools.

This work may be of interest to people engaged in the strategic decision making under conditions of risk and uncertainty, in order improve their quality and, therefore, the consequences of the decisions made.
