Scientific works, touching upon the specific of consulting business, still don’t provide the whole picture of problems faced by consulting companies and don’t have approaches that can be used in controlling the content of consulting projects. The research problem is the lack of standardized information about controlling the consulting projects. The aim of the work is to develop an approach to scope management of consulting projects based on the evaluation of the effectiveness of communication with the customer, which will reduce the gap in time of completing projects. The subject of the work is scope, schedule management and communication processes.

To achieve the aim of the work the following tasks were made:

1) analyze the specific of consulting project researches

2) identify the key issuses affecting the time of completing projects

3) investigate the degree of influence of customer communication channels on the schedule of completing projects

4) develop consulting scope management model

5) evaluate the effect of the developed model
