Conflict Resolution as Competency of Managers: Diagnostics and Development

Master's thesis is devoted to actual study of conflict resolution competence of Russian managers. This study attempted to reveal the basic characteristics of conflict resolution competence. In future, these characteristics will help us to develop conflict resolution competence. The purpose of the research is to identify the main characteristics of the conflict resolution competence of the Russian managers, that ensuring management of conflicts among subordinates, and finding possible ways to develop it. The work presents a theoretical analysis of domestic and foreign authors in the conflict resolution competence area. Conducted cross-disciplinary analysis of the concept of conflict resolution competence – is a distinctive feature of study. Hypotheses, research tools and questionnaire for CFT companies have based on the result of theoretical analysis. The main conclusion of the study is that conflict resolution competence of managers is developing in conflict, i. е. managers developing their competence by involving in the conflict situation, regardless of its outcome. Due to this study, which was conducted among the managers of the CFT companies, we have generated specific recommendations for the development of conflict resolution competence of the Russian managers. Identified recommendations we can using in HRM area in such functional areas as staff training and development, personnel assessment and staff selection. The work contains 115 pages, 66 references and 3 applications.
