Project Portfolio Selection of the Russian Energy Companies in Conditions of World Economy Decarbonization

Object of the current work is how Russian energy select projects for their portfolios. The subject of research is selection criteria, used in the process of project portfolio selection. In the theoretical part of the work was carried out an analysis of the consequences of climate change, international economy decarbonization trends and condition of renewable energy in Russia. Also, in this part was reviewed Paris Agreement and Russian contribution in it. In the practical part of the work was held a research on dependency between project portfolio selection factors and zones of Russian energy market. During the research, 25 experts from energy sector was surveyed to find out the differences in importance of project selection factors in different market zones. Basing on research results was developed a project selection method, which allows incorporate differences in importance during portfolio selection process. Also was developed a roadmap on improving renewables in Russia achieving global goals on decarbonization.
