Project Management Organization in a Small Consulting Company (the Case of Ltd. "Acceleration")

It is not always clear that company need to implement the project management office, especially if the company is small and has little number of employees and projects and there is a feeling of handiness of all business processes. Small number of scientific research focus on the PMO implementation in the small companies, as well as on the necessary degree of project management processes formalization. Scientists often focus their attention on improving the project office not on its creation. The primary aim of the study is to develop PMO implementation model for a small company, based on a project management system’ assessment. To achieve this goal the analysis of scientific publications was conducted and the success PMO principles were identified. The model, which includes five steps to create and increase the value of the project management office for the company was developed and tested on the case of the «Acceleration» company. The work may be useful for companies that are going to implement or improve of a project management office, as well as for researchers, who are interested in PMO investigation.
