Specifics of Mentoring System in NRU HSE - Nizhny Novgorod

The present final paper is aimed at developing sufficient recommendations for improving student mentoring system in National Research University – Higher School of Economics, Nizhny Novgorod branch (or HSE NN), that will help to design a standing order for student mentoring in the university. As long as primary period of studies is a crucial stage in student’s education life, the development of this issue raises a critical question for university management. Moreover, the existing research is mostly too general and doesn’t cover many narrow points of the topic. The global idea of this paper is to study the university mentoring systems for students and characterize the methods that universities use to improve their strategies of effective student adaptation activities. In this investigation empirical method are used: analysis of the standing orders for student mentoring in different universities of Russia. The specifics of the mentoring system in HSE NN are defined and recommendations for improving student mentoring system in this University are created basing on the gathered and analyzed information and, therefore contributing to development of the topic is relevant for the University and brings value to the present university mentoring system.
