Peculiarities of Corporate Strategy of the Multinational Companies Operating in Innovative Sector under Conditions of Economic Recession in Russia

The purpose of this study is to determine the characteristics of corporate strategies that are most effective for the multinational companies (MNCs) in the innovation sector during the economic crisis in Russia. By analyzing interviews, using case-method and building regression models the following guidelines for MNCs have been developed: MNCs in the innovation sector should follow the strategy of growth and continue investing in perspective projects, while reducing only indirect costs. In addition, multinational companies in the innovation sector, operating in emerging markets, must use the internationalization strategy as a part of their overall corporate strategy.
