The Theme of Superhero in American Cinema and TV of 1940's - 2010's

The present project is intended to cover such a specific field of contemporary popular culture as feature films and television series of American production that develop the theme of superhero through a dramatic composition. The main objective of the current study should be considered as revealing changes in the disclosure of the designated topic within the stated chronological frames. To achieve mentioned goal I utilized various empirical and theoretical methods, including comparative and dramaturgical analysis of selected works. During the study, I also carefully considered and compared various publications that address the topic from different perspectives. It is anticipated that the results of this research will enlight certain modern tendencies in the depiction of the archetype «superhero» in media and provide to producers of media content an opportunity to elaborate original conceptions in the examined area.
