Accounting and Audit of Export Operations

The aim of the research is to systemize rules of export accounting, develop a methodological support of audit of export operations and evaluate these developments on the example of the profit organization – joint-stock company TVEL (TVEL JSC). The research object is TVEL JSC. The research subject is the accounting system of export operations in TVEL JSC, which supplies atomic fuel to 78 power and research reactors in 15 countries. Scientific novelty of the study consists in systematization of peculiarities, difficult aspects and fundamental normative principles of export accounting and development of the methodological export auditing support. The research practical value involves that the prepared recommendations on organization and rationalization of export accounting can promote enhancement of efficiency and quality of accounting (financial) records presentation and can be introduced by a particular enterprise. In order to achieve the research aim the following scientific methods have been applied: analysis, comparison, classification and deduction. The first chapter of the study is dedicated to defining purposes and objectives of export accounting and audit, systemizing statutory regulation of export operations and reviewing literature on these operations accounting and audit. In the second chapter the author makes an assessment of export documenting, organization of its accounting in accounts and records of TVEL JSC. In the third chapter the author realizes an estimation of misrepresentation materiality, TVEL’s internal control system, auditor’s risk and audit sample size, develops a general plan and programme of export operations audit and gives recommendations on improvement of export accounting system of the company.
