The project is dedicated to analysis of historical representation and its specifity in the genre of TV series, frames of “New TV Series” as a genre and specific features of historical representation of 1950-1960 in tv series “Mad Men” and “Ottepel”. In the first part the development of tv-series genre is framed and the development of “New TV series” is discussed. Also in this part of the work the specific features of historical representation in TV-series are defined. In the second part the conducted interviews are analyzed and the process of historical representation conctruction are found out. The hypothesis: «Mad Men» and «Ottepel’» create controversial impression of those times and the feelings and representations of spectators are also controversial – is confirmed.
