Investment Attractiveness Determinants in Regions: an Analysis of Branch Special Aspects

A branch special aspect of investment attractiveness determinants in regions are analyzed using the regression analysis. The objects of study are 82 Russian regions. The main source of data is government statistics indicators. Investment attractiveness is explained by agglomeration, spatial correlation, plant concentration, regional fiscal spending, and human capital and infrastructure indicators. As a result of various modifications of the models evaluation, various determinants have been identified for various branches. Then results were tested for robustness, regions were ranked for the control of the results. The testing of model on Russian data has allowed verifying the investment attractiveness determinants in regions and important branch features. As a result, the influence of plant concentration, agglomeration and spatial correlation were identified by model validations and ranking of regions.
