Warehouse System Optimization

This paper presents an overview of different ways of warehousing optimization. The optimization is considered from three points of view: optimal warehouse design, rationalization of warehouse process, including minimization of an average travel distance during order-picking process, and implementation of innovative technologies that reduces time costs. Besides, this work illustrates the warehouse optimization from both logistical and managerial points of view in the example of wholesale and retail trade firm.
