Graffiti as a Form of Civic Activism (the Case of Vasilyevsky Island, Saint-Petersburg)

This work is devoted to the study of graffiti as a form of civil activism. The methods of research are in-depth interview and observation. As a result of analysis of the collected data it was revealed that graffiti as a form of civil activism exists and is one of the most popular. The main motive of graffiti artists is self-expression. The manifestation of civil activism in graffiti does not depend on the scale of the event. Self-expression is the main motive of drawing among all the representatives of this activity.
