Culinary Magazine on the Russian Media Market, "Gastronom" as a Philosophy of Eating

The research problem belongs to the sphere of food journalism as it’s represented by the case of “Gastronom” magazine. The study is targeted at exploring culinary magazines, namely focusing on philosophy of food and their specifics. The project proposal pertains newly evolving investigations of food being a form of social identity. The investigation will reveal the fact of the culinary magazine “Gastronom” to be proved as having its original philosophy the magazine “Gastronom”. The purpose of research is to identify the structure and features of the Russian culinary magazine. The methods selected and approaches is used are to answer the above mentioned research questions in the course of an expert interview, the content analysis, the structural analysis, statistical analysis and the historical analysis. The procedure includes the qualitative analysis of media texts and illustrations. Results anticipated will demonstrate culinary magazines to influence the choice of the reader’s preferences and the culinary magazine “Gastronom” has its own philosophy of food. The research will offer opportunities for further investigation in the sphere of culinary journalism.
