Out of the total population (36 municipal districts of the Moscow region), on the typological features selected 2: Mytishchi municipal district and Sergiev Posad, which presented the media with alternative financing methods: low cost, and the media, financed by a private individual, not dependent on local governments. The work is illustrated with 12 tables and 16 figures. The study revealed that the content of different media types with different models of funding depends on several factors, in particular the territorial characteristics of the region and its problems of mutual relations of local authorities (their conflicts, etc,), from "vocational schools", HR staff and others. Most of the materials of the regional media, both private and public, is devoted to the local governments, as the main newsmaker. In second place - materials on social, structural, and everyday life of the area. In third place - entertainment content. It identified two main sources of financing of the media: a municipal or regional budgets, funds of individuals unrelated to power structures. It was revealed that the source of funding, regardless, it is private or public, is not mentioned in the materials of its publication in the negative context. The percentage of the volume of material relating to local government, the same in the private and public media. If a larger percentage of the budget media materials on the local authorities, is positive, the majority of private media publications with mention of the local authorities, are negative.
