The Intensive development of the Internet communication has influenced all the traditional literary and journalistic genres, especially it has affected the commentary genre. From marginal genre, comment has moved towards the «center» of media and cultural communication. Virtual communication nowadays stands in need for the study in depth as it has become a significant part of people's virtual communication. Current research has studied stylistic, cognitive, metalinguistic features of the commentary genre in Web-sphere in the transition from WEB 2.0 to WEB «3.0». It was shown how and why in conditions of uneven development of technical resources and social competencies the comments' authors try more and more to follow the practice of (self-)restrictions (up to self-censorship). Legal uncertainty and wide field for all possible overuse acts develop the conditions which must be the subject of further researches. The result of the study can be used by professional journalists as well as by the average Internet users. Practical part of the research provides a basis for predicting major trends in the experts’ and readers’ communication on the web-sites, blogs and microblogs on the Internet.
