This master's thesis is devoted to the psychological and semantic analysis of the perception of volition. This analysis is based on the systematized theoretical descriptions, published empirical data and empirical research in which the psychosemantic methods have been used. As a result of the research three semantic universals have been identified in three respective groups, the first being non-psychologists (trivial/non-professional perception), the second including psychologists who do not work in the area of volition and the third representing publishing psychologists interested in the psychology of volition. The perception of volition has been analyzed in the framework of the energy approach. In addition, a volition effort experience has been studied and it has been found out that in the individual descriptions of the volition experience the active deep semantic role of the agent is much more frequent than the passive roles. The key words: volition, the problem of volition, psychosemantics, perception analysis, energy approach, volition effort experience, deep semantic roles
