Modern reality has both technical tools and variety of body images to create different spaces of corporal (self)transformation. In this paper the research question was posed in such way - how the image of a "professional" is constructed in the context of St. Petersburg bodmod community. As the object of this study were chosen bodmoders-"professionals" (tattoo artists, piercing artist, tattoo models and participants of the play-piercing project), living in St. Petersburg. The aim is to analyze the process of professionalization in context of the professional bodmod community. In the theoretical part of the study the key theories and concepts were presented related to the process of professionalization and the creation of body project, bodily labor and bodily capital. Basic research methods are in-depth interview and uninvolved unstructured observation. Sample of informants was carried out by the "snowball" method; it has been made 6 inputs in the network. It was carried out 20 interviews with bodmoders-"professionals", it were conducted 52 hours of observation and video analysis. In the empirical part of this work the process of professionalization in the context of bodmod community has been described and analyzed. Process of professionalization occurs through the inclusion in the professional community through social networks, specialized training practice, and «parenting» of a master and internal regulation of bodily labor. Construction of the image of «professional» performs through the artistic rhetoric of "originality", which consists in the recognition of authorship of the performed work. Other channels of the constructing «professional» image: the presence of the "paying" students, the organization of workshops, participation in events and receiving awards, "media-image". The formation of the image is also influenced effectively produced bodily and emotional labor.
