Social transformations, technological innovations, development of medicine and cosmetology have changed the attitude to the old age in the XX-XXI centuries. Contemporary anti-aging culture leads to the negative perception of aging and stimulates people to hide the signs of aging. Age-related changes present a more significant problem for women, than for men because of the greater meaning of the body for women’s identity and social status. The author researches how women’s aging is discussed on Russian TV. Analysis of makeover programs “Fashion judgment”, “Ten years younger”, “This is my mom” helps to understand why women make great efforts to resist aging and which strategies are used to struggle the old age. Also, the structure of Russian gender order, public expectations concerning the age groups and the concept of “successful aging” are discussed.
