The Evolution of Profession of an Artist in Kyrgyzstan

The thesis “The evolution of profession of an artist in Kyrgyzstan” aimed to study social, economic and professional features of the profession in Kyrgyzstan in Soviet, Post-Soviet and modern times. The thesis consists of two parts: the theoretical and the practical ones. In the theoretical part, there is defined conception of the “profession” and its role in human’s life, defined the concept of the “profession of an artist” and its features. The practical part of the work is dedicated to research of social and economic and social and cultural changes in Kyrgyz society, which caused transformations in the profession of an artist. The qualitative research method is used in the work: in-depth interviews with Kyrgyz artists and archive documents of Union of Artists of Kyrgyztsan.
