Intellectual property protection today can be attributed to the most complex issues. Previously, the problem mostly affects only creative people, writers and artists, however, in our rapidly developing world, there are new options for the use of results of intellectual activity and almost every profession the issue of copyright, which naturally causes a rapid growth of criminal encroachments on the rights holders. Moreover, the importance of protecting copyright issues as well is that it leads to respect and protection of constitutional rights. In addition, this issue is directly linked to the development of economic relations in Russia. This was facilitated by the active filling of the Russian market of counterfeit products, which was caused by the unsuitability of the state to this phenomenon. Violation of intellectual property rights were not regulated by the legislation on the necessary level of experience in the field of law enforcement agencies was absent, and consumers were not able to correctly differentiate between fake and original. . Despite the fact that in Russia there is a change and the development of existing criminal protection of intellectual property law, the analysis of the theoretical framework and the judicial practice shows the need to fill the gaps and further development.

The aim of this work is a comprehensive study of the criminal law relating to responsibility for crimes against intellectual property, to identify gaps and possible solutions.

This object causes the formulation and solution of the following tasks:

- The study of the essence of the concept of criminal law on intellectual property;

- The formulation of proposals on improvement of crimes against intellectual property criminal legislation on liability
