This paper covers the process of creating a multifunctional house alarm system. The system designed contains several parts: camera control device which is placed in the area that needs to be watched and, with the help of the signal from the motion sensor, takes a picture of covered area when it recognizes any motion; the server that hosts a web-site of our system and runs a software that receives data from the camera control device. We made a comparison analysis of common hardware and software components that can be used for creating required system and chose the most suitable ones. The system developed meets the requirements of the assignment and can be successfully installed for providing house security. It can be further improved in the future by adding support for other connection interfaces and potentially moving the server to better hardware. Methods of connecting OV7670 to Arduino Uno can be used in numerous different projects using similar hardware.
