Influence of Mass Culture on Sociocultural Environment in the Republic of Korea

The present research describes the impact of mass culture on socio-cultural environment of the modern Republic of Korea. The aim of the paper is to establish the connection between current issues in mass culture and the ways they are affecting society and culture. The analysis is forestalled by description of basic approaches to mass cultural studies and a brief history of mass culture in Korea. The basis for the study is provided by a body of literature on Korean mass culture, statistical data and reports.
