Research in Dynamics, Structure and Use of the National Wealth of Russia

A research into the composition and the dynamics of change of the national wealth of the Russian Federation is put forward in the paper. The structure of the national wealth is analyzed through the sequential examination of each of its constituents: financial assets, non-financial produced assets and non-financial non-produced assets. The study also discusses the limitations of the present statistical methodology of the assessment of national wealth in Russia. The findings confirm the significant underestimation of the real values of the Russian national wealth. In order to overcome the shortcomings, we investigate an extended concept of the evaluation of national wealth. On the basis of the gained results, the necessity to apply the international statistical standards to the Russian practice is proved.
