Sources for the Study of Moscow Inhabitants` Social Identity in 20-40s of the 18th Century

The present research paper is devoted to historical sources that could be used for the study of social identity. The study has been divided into four main chapters. It is analyzed the information potential of materials of church accounting, record keeping documents and materials of administrative records for the studying the social identity. The studying of Moscow inhabitants` social identity of the first half of eighteenth century is based on analyzing the data which we could explore through those sources – how inhabitants identified themselves by noting their social estate in documents. The study touches upon the problem of complexity of social structure of Russian society.
