There are many factors that influence on the sales of records companies. Nowadays a number of the records companies suffer losses. Most of them guess that the reason of sales decrease is an illegal file sharing through the Internet. It is called piracy. Music companies have been trying to fight with piracy about ten years. They believe that free file sharing will be able not only to decrease company income but also to destroying music industry at all. But there is another opinion that free file sharing is an element of the digital age. Records companies should not fight with piracy but should be change their strategy of doing business with the aim of being appropriate for digital market. The purpose of the proposed research is to find out right opinion and to create business model for being successful at digital market. The structure of research consists of tree part. They are literature review, methods of research and results anticipated. Articles for proposed research were chosen using two characteristics. They are high level of citation and existence of strong empirical base. The expected results of proposed research are the list of elements that form effective business model.
