The Role of the Northern Sea Route in the International Cooperation of the Arctic Countries' Development

In the framework of this master diploma investigates the role of the Northern Sea Route in the international transportation. This route is considered as an alternative to the existing in the Arctic region, at the same time, promoting mutually beneficial international cooperation. The paper presents a comprehensive review of the literature, which shows the main socio-economic and political aspects of the development of SMEs. SWOT-analysis in conjunction with the method of analytic hierarchy on the basis identified strengths and weaknesses in the development of the Northern Sea Route. In addition, an analysis of the regulatory framework, indicating gaps in the legislation. Recommendations for improving international cooperation in the Arctic region were provided.
