Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) Ranging Based on a Student's Psychological Model

E-learning platforms and online-courses are the key object of this research. The main objective of the work is to introduce new possibilities for existing advisory systems’ enhancement, which would take into account students’ preferences and provide recommendations according to them. In this work, basic recommender algorithms and similarity metrics were investigated. Also, Felder-Silverman psychological model of learning styles, which is the basis of the research, were evaluated and explored to develop the method that is based on a student’s cognitive profile. The most popular online-platforms, such as Coursera, and recommender systems, such as CourseTalk and MOOC List, have been analyzed, as well. As the result, proposed methods could be a basis for an online-course advisory system. Afterwards, it will provide some opportunities to improve the sphere of distance learning and a student’s qualification as well.
