This work is the study of the escapism of people with hearing impairment (deaf people). The focus of the study is a detailed study of social escapism as a unique phenomenon in the graduates of Moscow correctional schools. In Russia the system of education for the deaf and hard of hearing has inherited the Soviet model. However, recent studies of senior pupils in the conditions of boarding schools for the deaf and hard of hearing revealed a number of systemic problems. Thus, the conducted measurements showed that people with hearing loss and enrolled in special remedial schools have a kind of social escapism, abandonment of traditional life policies (related to education and professional activities) identified delays in cognitive and social development of pupils. These results became the starting point for our study However, the phenomenon of social escapism indicated in the most studies as a negative consequence of education in boarding schools. However, there are other researchers which don't consider escapism a negative aspect of life of individuals. Moreover, in their opinion, escapism can be not only a dependence, solitude and alienation, but also the highest expression of freedom. We conclude that social escapism students and graduates was not studied deeply, and does not define its types, not to mention his differences, variability and extent. This work is devoted to study of the escapism of graduates of the Moscow correctional schools with hearing impairment.
