Keywords Inventory management, demand forecasting, regression analysis, business process re-engineering, sporting goods Lately new ways of selling goods became popular: modern technologies allow making orders without coming to the store. Wide range of products available on the websites makes customers to choose allow customers to purchase items that can be out-of-shelf due to problems with the supply. Moreover, “to door” delivery is a big advantage for customers when choosing whether to go to the shop or buy something online. In the scope of eCommerce management inventory planning accuracy and inventory management are key factors that allow to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage. The aim of the paper is to improve inventory management system for sporting goods eCommerce through the development of demand forecasting models. As a result, an appropriate approach to demand forecasting was selected; all the necessary models were developed and tested on real data. All the necessary changes in processes, organizational structure and IT system needed to implement models are described and depicted in the work. The economic feasibility of the proposed changes was assessed and proved with DuPont model (increase in Return on Net Worth by 4 percentage points). 5.
