Migration flows, Demand for Education and the Strategic Interaction of Countries in the North-South Model
Applied Mathematics and Information Science
The general purpose of present academic project is to examine the interaction between educational policies of the host and source countries in the context of a model with skilled-worker migration. Thus, the tasks of the study are to design a model with two countries that have different technological levels (North and South); to use this model to analyze the game’s results varying values of model parameters. In the static model governments of both countries aim to maximize its income by optimally choosing the educational expenditures. Simulations conducted on the basis of the model shows that increasing migration flows discourages education investments.
