Prevalence and Structural Characteristics of Ethnically Mixed Married Couples in Kazakhstan on Population Census of 2009

This work is relevant and new on the subject of mixed marriages in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Dissertation is devoted to the study of inter-ethnic marriages in Kazakhstan based on the census of 2009, the construction of a matrix of combinations of ethnic and settlement assessment ethnic distances predominant ethnic groups of the country. The dynamics of the number of ethnic groups, and especially in their regional location, the ethnic composition of the population of Kazakhstan, the structural characteristics of the ethnic groups, the share of which exceeds one percent of the population. The data on the dynamics of the share of mixed marriages in Kazakhstan in the second half of the XX century on the basis of inputs data and Soviet researchers conducted census in Kazakhstan for 1959-2009 years in the context of urban and rural areas. The calculations assess ethnic distance, showing occurred migration and demographic processes in the context of individual ethnic groups. The data of the prevalence of intermarriage by region among the urban and rural population and the factors influencing their formation. In writing this work were collected basic research on the subject of inter-ethnic marriages in the context of territorial spaces and certain ethnic groups. The outflow of ethnic groups after the republic gained independence influenced the decline in the share of mixed marriages in Kazakhstan. Interethnic marriages distance Kazakh and Russian population of Kazakhstan at the 2009 census is different from the evaluation of the Russian population census of 2010, and shows a close distance between the ethnic groups in Kazakhstan than Russia. Due to historical, cultural and demographic characteristics, and migration processes Republic of Kazakhstan is characterized by large differences.
