The Past in the Views of Ancient Authors of the 2nd Century A.D.

Graduation work is devoted to the identification and characterization of the views on the past of the authors in the IInd century AD in the Roman Empire for investigation of culture of memory in antiquity. The works of ancient authors of the IInd century AD were used as sources. The main part of the study consists of 3 chapters. Chapter 1 contains the history of the study of memory in the XIX-XXI centuries. Three questions were discussed in the Chapter 2: 1) a general description of the Roman Empire in the IInd century AD 2) directions in the philosophy of the Roman Empire in the IInd century AD 3) edition, distribution of books and their readers. Chapter 3 is devoted to identifying the link between perception of historical events and social phenomena, as well as the identification of aspects of historical consciousness. Thus, an attempt to identify ways to memory transmission, to explain the change in the content of historical memory and describe references to the past has been made.
