Innovation Performance of Russian Small and Medium Enterprises: the Role of Internal and External Context

The research is devoted to studying the prominent internal and external factors of innovation performance of Russian SMEs. Based on the sample of 1677 Russian manufacturing SMEs, the results indicate that there is a positive relationship between R&D capacity, institutional cooperation and innovation performance of SMEs. In addition, this paper shows a negative relationship between firm size and innovation performance of SMEs. This paper concludes with two prominent contributions.
