There is a lot of research in the educational sphere today. All curricular and education systems are being changed from year to year, but still the quality and effectiveness of education are the main problems of our days. Many researchers define academic motivation as one of the most important component of educational process. In our thesis we consider various components of academic motivation. The research question is the following: “What is a structural model for interaction between the factors of educational sphere and students’ motivation?” In our paper we offer a comprehensive analysis of this issue. We examine the interrelation between students’ motivation and all the factors that we determined according to the Federal state educational standards for the primary school, adopted in 2009, and within the framework of our research instrument. We created a model of interaction between these factors and intrinsic and extrinsic students’ motivation using Structural Equation Modelling. We determined the differences between these two structural models and figured out those factors which can change the levels of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. That might be helpful for actively working teachers and parents to maintain or even raise the level of children’s motivation for educational activity. We statistically proved that extrinsic motivation is a mediator between intrinsic motivation and children’s attitude to the studying process in school. Another discovery of our research was the fact that when it comes to classes in Mathematics and the Russian language, the structural models of interaction between the educational factors and students’ motivation applied to those two subjects are practically the same. Key words: academic motivation, intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation, Federal state educational standards, Structural Equation Modeling.
