Role Reciprocity in the Distribution of Labor in Families

The usual understanding of the terms “marriage” and “family” is changing and forming a new meaning of “gender roles” of men and women. The new Millennium exists as a synonym of personal freedom and self-expression. The usual family pattern has rather changed, since the spouses have opportunity to perform different duties, which are not always familiar in the context of gender. There is a new type of woman who is performing the function of a breadwinner in the family and not participating in domestic work, while the man is not only perform household chores, but also acts as a "guardian of the hearth", controlling family life. Some cultural frameworks, sociology of gender and feminists views are used to make study truthful and theoretically justified. The purpose of the study is to gain knowledge about their managing time in domestic space, sharimg domestic duties and making desitions. Research has shown that that there are several practices of managing time and duties in the family, founded on the personal reasons and traditions.
