Particular research is based on the theoretical analysis of the workplace cynicism problem and systematization of existing questionnaires of it’s measurement. Analysis showed the evidence of methodological problem presence - such as, a lack of reliable Russian-language scale to measure professional cynicism. Empirical part of the study includes three stages. On the first stage 92 personal interviews with Russian employees were carried out to allocate specific aspects of daily labor process. On the basis of thematic content analysis 11 broad sections were outlined. The second stage of the study was actual development of scale items and it’s probation on 244 employees sample. Exploratory factor analysis was performed. The final version of the scale was developed during the third stage, based on the second probation (247 employees) through confirmatory factor analysis. Reliability and validity of the developed scale were identified. Finally, the scale of employees’ cynical attitude toward peers, managers and company in general with satisfactory psychometric characteristics was identified. Developed measure is practically useful for staff evaluation as well as for scientific research on the workplace cynicism.
