This master's thesis is dedicated to the problem of theoretical and practical research in respect of the middle age: resources, new opportunities and prospects of development. This issue is of utmost importance today, because of: the absence of a consolidated research work, which describes the resource potential and individual opportunities during the period of middle period of life in the terms of future development; the absence of a clear research, which demonstrates the creational possibilities of the middle age period, the ways of successful crisis resolution, as well as motivating self-discovery and necessary life changes (by deploying the existing time resource a unique possibility). This master's thesis consists of three chapters. The first chapter deals with the theoretical and science aspects of the problem of middle age. The second chapter is devoted to resources and potential of the middle age period. A survey among middle age members in connection with the middle life concept, made by applying method of semantic differential of Charles Ozgud («Associative matrix of middle life concept »). The focus of present research are to confirm or reject the hypothesis that the time period of middle age can be viewed as emotionally positive and productive life stage, which includes resources and new opportunities for the future person development and self-actualization (including the possibility to resolve inner personal conflict to the benefit of life instinct and True self development).
