The author uses the term «health saving», in connection with which there is a research problem, associated with the understanding of the term in the context of the research topic. The author connects this term with a new understanding of health, with an emphasis on the importance of self-preservation behavior and «division» of responsibility for the preservation of health between the state institutions and the man himself. In this connection, a special place is occupied by the individual’s culture of health saving as a condition of maintaining health. So the task associated with the ascertainment of which determinants (external and internal) have an impact on the formation of culture of health saving was formed. The author offers three specific hypotheses, one of which was confirmed in a study: teachers are not significant adults for schoolchildren about questions of culture of health saving, and teachers do not consider themselves responsible for the formation of such culture. The scientific novelty of this study is defined, first of all, by the novelty of its subject – the determinants of formation of culture of health saving in school. Besides obvious novelty of these results is that external determinants shows less influence on the formation of teacher’s culture of health saving than the internal, among which cultural family settings are relatively strong.
