The research is devoted to the novel Kyukhlya (1925) by Yury Tynyanov (1894 –1943) who is a writer of the first half of the 20th century and also a theoretic of formalism and a member of OPOJAZ. This biographical novel is based on his early scholarly studies dedicated to Wilhelm Küchelbecker's life and poetry and his role in the literary opposition between "archaists and innovators" of the 20s years of the 19th century.
