"Cost-Efficiency of the Northern Sea Route and its Role in the Russian Arctic Development". In this paper we consider the NSR in the context of the domestic economy of Russian and international relations. In the coursework, we come to the logical conclusion that the most realistic approaches about development of NSR in the short and medium term is the orientation toward ensuring the own needs of the Russian economy. The development of transit through the NSR should not be considered as an independent driver for the development of the NSR, but as an additional source of revenue that increases the profitability of shipping activities in the NSR and creates conditions for reducing the specific costs for transporting goods.
