Development of a Sentiment Dictionary Based on Emoji in Texts

The following paper deals with a development of a sentiment dictionary using emoji as markers of sentences’ connotations. Using data from social media and statistical methods of analysis, I intend to build a dictionary containing words, their connotations and examples of usage. I first provide an introduction. Then I discuss some existing methods of developing sentiment dictionaries and describe the plan of the study. In the end, I mention anticipated results and ideas for further research.
