Study of the Elasticity of Demand for Power in the Macroregion of Russia

In this paper, based on a developed regression models, a study of the elasticity of demand on the example of the Russian electricity market is conducted. The main specific characteristics of electricity, which define the nature of supply and demand for energy. The basic theoretical aspects of energy consumption and the main factors affecting the demand of electricity on the basis of sources on the topic were introduced. An analysis based on weekly databases of some regions of Russia gives an idea about the nature of elasticity of demand in electricity. The results can be used by economic agents or for further studies in the subject.
