The Perception of Autonomy by Kalmykia's Party Leadership in 1920-1957

The Theme of Diploma is "The Perception of Autonomy by Kalmykia's Party Leadership in 1920-1957". This topic is a study of the development of the autonomy of the Kalmyks in the first half of the twentieth century, a reflection of changes in national policy and the inner workings of the national region of the RSFSR and the conditions under which it appeared in the mid-twentieth century. Currently, the national construction of the USSR in the twentieth century the administrative-territorial device of the Russian Federation in addition to areas included several different categories of the national Autonomous formations: Autonomous regions, districts and republics. Currently, among scholars and politicians often the question arises about the need to reform the administrative system, while maintaining the integrity of the state. The solution to this problem can be found in the study of the experience of the Soviet construction of national actors. One of the most interesting examples can be considered an example of the Republic of Kalmykia, founded in 1920. Analysis of the transformation of the Kalmyk autonomy in the first half of the twentieth century will allow us to represent the situation about how, thanks to the Soviet experiment with national construction in the 1920-1950s, the formation and transformation of ethnic regions in the Russian Federation perceived the concept of "autonomy" of local governing bodies and what motivated them to the development status of the region. The object of study is the Kalmyk autonomy. The subject of the research is the concept of autonomy in the administrative structure of the RSFSR. Research period: 1920-1957.
