The paper gives a holistic description of the institution of licensing of entrepreneurial activity for managing multi-apartment buildings. It is established that when choosing the method for regulating the communal sphere, the legislator has justified choosing the licensing of activities for the management of multi-apartment buildings. At the same time, the existing legal regulation needs to be improved, in particular, the established licensing requirements are to be clarified and expanded, the differentiation of administrative responsibility is necessary. In addition, the level of professional training of members of the licensing commission is to be increased. The work is based on the analysis of normative legal acts and materials of judicial practice. Each of the three chapters of the work contains concrete proposals for solving existing problems.
