The work is dedicated to the study of representation of image of the Russian army in the Crimea events in 2014 in the Russian media. “Crimean crisis” was taken for the case in question not accidentally. The events that were taking place in Crimea became one of the most resonant in both the media and the Russian public sphere in general. The research is aimed at finding out whether the Russian media space can really be divided into two opposite discourses, and if so, at identifying what main features distinguish two discourses from each other.
