The master thesis provides a methodological analysis of socio-economic strategies of regions of Russian Federation for compliance of it with key elements of smart specialization. The research paper analyzes and compares the long-term priorities of the regions in order to identify groups of regions for smart specialization. The paper makes a careful description of the principle of smart specialization and foresight studies, including definitions, general goals and methods. The research includes cluster and regression analysis based on the provided methodologies and outlines key clusters for specialization. The findings of the paper demonstrate the strong differentiation of the regions in terms of smart specialization logic. In addition, the analysis provides recommendations for establishing an environment for applying smart specialization concept among Russian regions.
