Economic and Social Ties Between China and Myanmar in the Beginning of the 21st Century(1988-2011)

In South-east and South Asia region, Myanmar and China is recognized as close partners since historical times. But it is not true for every times. Since 1988, Military government came to power in Myanmar, two countries relationship has been developing in various sectors especially in economic ties. But Sino-Myanmar ties had been slowing down rapidly when new democratic reform government came to power in Myanmar since 2011. This situation has created many problems in Sino-Myanmar relations in the future. Because Myanmar new generation leaders and their citizens already depressed on China’s role in domestic policy implementation in economic and social issues. This paper is arguing about current Sino-Myanmar relations how to promote and reverse to the good condition without taking any risks in the future. Because Myanmar has no choice for China since they are neighboring in the region and development of Beijing role in the new world order.
