The Factors Determining the Educational Trajectory «Secondary- Secondary vocational – Higher Education» by Students of Chelyabinsk State University

The paper is devoted to the study of the factors determining the educational trajectory “secondary - secondary vocational – higher education” by the students of Chelyabinsk State University. The data was obtained from the students of two levels of education: secondary vocational and higher education. IBM SPSS Statistics was applied in the research. Four factors affecting the educational trajectory were analyzed. They are: “quality of education in the secondary school”, “place of living”, “limited household resources”, “parents’ level of education”. The study made it possible to put forward the idea that secondary vocational education is regarded as preparatory for higher education. Parents’ level of education of those taking trajectory “secondary - secondary vocational – higher education” is not below secondary vocational.
